The Ring of Kerry
Day 2 was a long, long, long day of travel.
We drove from Ennis in County Clare all the way to Bantry in County Cork, via the Ring of Kerry. Along the way, we stopped at the Skellig Islands experience, watched an Irish shepherd direct his dogs to herd the sheep, drove through Glenbeigh (my grandmother’s home town), ate delicious home-made ice cream in Sneem, and stopped the tour bus along the roadway to click photos of the rolling hills, the Atlantic, and Bantry Bay. Whew!
We ended our day with a wonderful surprise at the Westlodge Hotel in Bantry Bay.
